Unlike Landsat data used by the WRC, for this study we elected to use EO-1 ALI because:
•Landsat 7 is flawed (due to Scan Correction Mirror anomaly), Landsat 5 imagery is very noisy, and no Landsat follow on will be flying for a number of years, so ALI makes sense as an alternative
•EO-1 ALI offers spectral bands comparable to Landsat 7 ETM+, has additional spectral bands, and offers better signal margin
•EO-1 supports pointing of the satellite to pick up requested targets, thus providing more frequent imaging opportunities.
