Microtel intends to broaden its work in the area of water quality monitoring by submitting a new SBIR proposal to NASA not addressed through its current SBIR effort. This new effort would attempt to evaluate the feasibility of performing aquatic plant diversity and density surveys using satellite imagery. Aquatic plant diversity and abundance is an important indication of bay and lake area health.
